Dr. Edwin Mugume

Role: Senior Researcher.

Dr. Mugume received the Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University (First Class Honors) in 2007 and the MSc degree in Communication Engineering (with Distinction) from The University of Manchester, UK in 2011. He completed his PhD in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from The University of Manchester, UK in 2016. His PhD research focused on energy efficient deployment strategies for future highly dense heterogeneous cellular networks. His research interests like in next-generation green heterogeneous cellular networks, 5G technologies, stochastic geometry approaches to wireless network analysis, and the Internet of Things. Dr. Mugume has significant experience in planning and optimizing mobile networks, having worked for among others Nokia Siemens Networks and Airtel Uganda. He is currently a Lecturer of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Makerere University.
